What I Do Here

Support my team! My job is to provide all the great teammates we have at SparkChange with the support and structure they need to do great things for clients. Since I co-founded SparkChange in 2019, I have acted as the CEO, closely involved in all aspects of our business, particularly the relationships we build and the results we drive for our clients.  My job is to remove obstacles and facilitate great listening and learning opportunities to allow our team to create the next generation of automation for our industry.

My SparkChange "Why"

Because healthcare is broken. After spending more than a decade fixing problems one at a time, it became apparent a new direction was needed for me personally and professionally. Healthcare touches everyone. One of the very few aspects we can mostly agree on is that it is too complicated. I often encourage new teammates to ask others "what they do." Almost universally, what we do matters more than most. It can impact millions of lives daily across the globe. So my why is rooted in the drive to run towards the fire, critically think through the challenge, and drive fundamental change for the people around us.

What I Love About SparkChange

Hard to put this into words…. THE PEOPLE: Clients and Teammates.

For the first time in my career, I am sitting not only at the table with our clients but on the same side of the table, discussing, listening, brainstorming, challenging, witnessing, developing……, and RESOLVING industry challenges that have plagued us for decades.

Often, the line between the client and SparkChange is blurred by the common goal challenging the "it's always been like this" to the point where the delineation of the team does not end with the differentiation of organization but encompasses like-minded people ready to tackle something big!

Before SparkChange

My revenue cycle experience started with implementing and supporting solutions for a large EHR vendor, quickly moving into a leadership role in overall Clinical and Revenue Cycle solution support, growing a team of 100 people to over 1100 servicing clients across the globe. After years of supporting and resolving client's tickets, I was told support was not strategic. That statement is WRONG. Support provides the easiest and uncensored insight into clients' issues. After years of ignoring those indicators, it was time to solve them independently. I took my entrepreneurial talents to help co-found SparkChange.

When I'm Not Working

Two thrills in my life have me seeking the constant rush of repeating those experiences repeatedly. One, hopefully, you can tell from other sections, is solving an issue for a client and seeing that sense of satisfaction. Two is seeing the same level of success in my children. My wife and I, arguably too much, spend time with our children, exploring their interests in sports, travel, and experiences. Watching your child learn and grow is a special thrill that I hope to experience for as long as they will let me 😊 .

I specialize in photography, videography, branding, and digital design. I am truly right brained-left brained, there's no doubt about it! I'm creative at my core, but think with a strong analytical mind. I look at everything from the eye of the beholder, and the users experience is more important to me than any thing else. I might be considered a "corporate junky" among my creative friends because I don't do things for the sake of creativity. I am a strategic thinker, with a creative flair, following the data, the analytics, the numbers, and the customer's voice in order to design, develop, and strategize.
